Distance Learning Course

Hi there. Could someone please advise on how I can get my money back from a distance learning institution. I enrolled on a Level 3 Admin course in May 2014 but I became ill and had emergency hospital admissions and hospital investigations. I wrote to Study House to ask for a refund as I was unable to study. They replied that I couldn't have my money back and said if I wanted to continue the course I would have to pay another £50.00. I thought that my health problem would be resolved, I had surgery in January 2015. But I didn't take into account that I wasn't able to sit down which was the case and wrote to them again stating that I was still recovering from a major surgery. Unfortunately I still haven't got my £300.00 back. Please can anyone advise. Thank you. I appreciate anyone's input.

According to the terms they state on the website, you can only get a refund if you cancel within 7 days of registering and return your full study pack to them. To be honest, I can't see that you are going to get your money back - they delivered what you paid for, and it was your own circumstances that prevented you studying. The best you can get is a re-registration for £50 (which is what they offered you before), but given the time since you registered, you would need to find out if the course is still the same as it was when you initially registered.


But unfortunately I think you had your answer - you cannot now have your money back.
