Credit Card Debt With DLC

Hello all,
My partner has a debt for an old Vanquis credit card for £3491. This is being chased up by a company called DLC. To save the long story she ran this card up whilst on maternity and it ended badly.
I would like to sort this out and have no issue paying a small amount eg £5 per week even if it would take forever to pay. We offered them £5 per week or a one off £500 to settle it.
They refused to even consider either option until we had filled in a incoming/outgoing calculator they use. I have not yet done this. I am just looking for advice and suggestions on how to proceed with this.
My partner is only working 10 hours per week as she is looking after our child mostly. I work full time but of course spend most of our income on the bills. We have a house but it's all in my name.
On the calculator it asks for partners income etc but I am not really wanting to give them that information as non of it is in my name and as we are not married they can't have any information to suggest we are a couple.
I intend to write to them and keep it all done via paper I guess what I am asking is how do you think I should proceed? Give them my info or just try to make up something as if she was single?
My partner earns around £300 p/m and her bills come to around £400. I give her the other £100 and take care of all the other bills. Main thing I am reluctant about giving my details is I don't want them trying to demand £100s every month.
With a view to a full and final settlement I know £500 is a low offer but does anyone have any idea what sort of offer would be accepted?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much

Sorry not to be able to give any firm advice but I am sure others will be able to.
I doubt they could ask you for the money as the debt is not in your name, but may deduce that you are a couple if her expenditure list shows she is being given money and her bills are being paid by you.
Again as it is your money and not your debt, that should not impact on the amount they want it is just that they may not be as helpful if they think things are being hidden from them.Aiming to make £7,500 online in 20220 -
Thank you for the reply. I just have a feeling if I put my income on the guide they will try to take much more than a token amount. I do have a decent amount of free income each month but generally use this to pay off bills like our car loan to save on interest.0

Hi Sourcrates,
The account was opened about 3 years ago whilst my partner was working full time. It defaulted around October last year, from what I know it went to a company called Moorcroft only to be passed on to DLC.
Thanks0 -

Ok, so fairly new then.
You should make the payment offer in writing, don't include your income, just your partners, if it's rejected, pay it anyway, to show good faith.
Chances are they will sell the debt on.
Do not offer more than is easily affordable, communicate with them in writing only, don't speak to them on the phone.
Unfortunately it's anyone's guess how much they would take in settlement, it's a game of negoatiation, keep trying.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Thank you very much.
Going to draft something up tommorow to send to them. My partner essentially has little income that don't cover her bills so just going by that I would offer a token payment or the F&F. Then state something along the lines of I won't pay the debt off for her so they either take the token payment or take the small F&F payment as she has no more to give?0 -
Jbennett51 any chance you could message me with what percentage you might have got this sorted for? Same position and sick with worry!0
