So yes. Terrible income for my entire adult life and poor spending habits have taken its toll but this is the fixing stage

Signed up for £3 charity dd today, am ok with that as i'm going to move that account to one that will be better for me and I get money from it at that point
Also v important cause.
Torn between no spend day and buying some eggs
Might buy eggs tomorrow and hide at work to avoid shop based lunch hour temptation! 0 -

Feeling a bit disheartened today. Our bank balance is lower than I thought it would be, although we have been doing well. We have £150 to last until the 10th...it seems unlikely.
I think it's also been a difficult month as it's our first one sticking to a budget, and we've also started at the beginning of the month and are trying to get to the 10th ...
It's also been difficult as we are trying to adjust to a few changes. Coming off childcare vouchers onto child tax credits means I need to still pay an extra £70 to catch us up on payments before our new regular DD kicks in. I also Have to buy some new glasses and we have to take the cat for vaccinations (so about £90 in total). We're going to have a cat spend budget next month but it's just an extra £160 or so I had forgotten we need to spend and it's all left me feeling a bit down about the fact we will go over budget, even though we really have been doing very well!
I suppose it will start to improve next month, our first month starting from pay day onwards...without coming out of a holiday

Last month/ first month went badly, we did try hard but ran out of money well in advance and I found it impossible to budget after that as we already over.
So we're starting this month a few hundred down on where we should But some good things.
We now have different accounts for bills and daily expenses which should make it easier to keep track and in budget. We're also moving to first direct so yay, £100 bonus. Some cashback also came in which should cover the bills account during the transition.
Bad side, husband has been ill a lot and is now out of paid sick leave. So all savings at the moment have to go towards combating lowered pay slips rather than nice things like making the house liveable :-/0
