Hi everyone,
Can you tell me, what’s the best product for cleaning kitchen units? I’ve been thinking of getting some Flash All Purpose Cleaning Spray (Sainsbury’s and ASDA are currently selling this for £1/500ml (20p/100ml)), or are there better alternatives?
Are Aldi and Lidl’s ones any good? Sainsbury’s also do their own as well for 75p/500ml (15p/100ml). Anyone know if this is any good?
And what’s Astonish like (£1/750ml (13.3p/100) at ASDA) for cleaning kitchen units? Any good?
TIA

Do a forum search for stardrops?I want my sun-drenched, wind-swept Ingrid Bergman kiss, Not in the next life, I want it in this, I want it in this
Use your imagination, or you can borrow mine!0 -
Thanks, I'll pop over to ASDA before shops shut, their open till 5pm, so should have plenty of time. Looks like this isn't in a spray bottle though I do have an old one that I can recycle, I do prefer a spray.
Thanks again.0 -
If you have a spray bottle you can make a homemade cleaner to put in it.
One part washing up liquid
Two parts lemon juice
Four parts white vinegar
Five parts water
Mix gently together and put in spray bottle. Makes a good all-purpose cleaner for kitchens, bathrooms, woodwork etc.One life - your life - live it!0 -
Would just second Stardrops.
In differing mixtures ( diluted with different amounts of water/white vinegar etc) I use it to clean everywhere.

I use Ecover all purpose cleaner diluted in an old spray bottle. Any other spray makes me cough which suggests it can't be good to breathe in chemicals. It's also very effective. I use a dry microfibre cloth to wipe clean after spraying and it keeps my granite worktops and stainless cooker back streakfreeIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

Thanks for all your tips. I popped over to the Ivybridge ASDA though they didn’t have any in stock.
I quite like Nargleblast’s tip though, might give that a go. If not I’ll pop over to ASDA’s in Kingston at some point and try and see if they sell Stardrops though could probably do with getting some white vinegar as some point, great stuff for removing lime scale build-up of showerheads, needs doing soon as well.
Ecover is a bit pricey though I have to say is very effective alright. I've also had a couple of free samples of their washing liquid in the past, used it for cleaning the exterior of my oven, worked a treat on greasy spots and anything else that is normally difficult to clean.
Edit: I've just checked mySupermarket and have added Ecover All Purpose Cleaner to my price alerts. Will see if it drops bellow £2. Good offer at Waitrose (£2.50 3 for 2 @ 16.7p/100ml) at the moment too though not sure if I want 3 bottles of the stuff.
Thanks again0 -
Stardrops tends to be found in the likes of B&M, Poundstretcher etc.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Homebargains has Stardrops spray. I can't remember the price but less than 90p.
It was the same price as the standard Stardrops.0
