Dear Dini,
Regarding the amount due 1322.28 GBP, we act on behalf of Apollo Fire Detectors Ltd in order to collect the outstanding account value of your debt.
We would like to remind you that the amount above was due for payment on 28.03.16 but as no payment has been received, your invoice is now considered as overdue. Please find a printable version of your invoice at the following link:
( link removed as I've no idea what tomfollery/virus etc it might lead to)
Original invoice will be sent out to:
Dini
my previous address
In order to avoid further costs, please forward the payment to us and transfer the amount due not later than 10.04.16
Yours truly,
Joseph Rice
This appeared in my spam email on Wed.
I've never heard of either Apollo Fire detectors or promobile.
The details on the email are all mine, the name and address are mine too. (previous address though- I moved Feb 2015)
My previous flat (rented) was managed by a property company and I would not have been liable for anything related to smoke detectors etc.
I've checked my noddle account and there are no weird credit applicaitons or anything I don't recognise on it.
Ive just finished a DMP after 9 yrs, and I know I dont have any outstanding creditors.
Suggestions??
Anyone ever heard of them?

Hi Fermi,
Thanks.
I normally ignore anything spammy like that, it's just that they had all my details correct.
I don't appear on the edited register and still have a redirection in place from previous address.

I keep getting similar emails supposedly from PayPal, but obviously some scammer, wanting an invoice paid for Skype services, which I don't subscribe too.
It has my name and email correct, obviously lifted from somewhere, but its a con, I get loads of them in various forms.

Hey,
I got an almost identical email like this the other day, too! Definitely some kind of scam going around.October 2015 = -13242.16 DFD 28/10/2016 £0 :T0 -
There was an article about it on the BBC today talking about how the malware/ransomware works. It sounds like lots of people have fallen for it.

how people fall for these is beyond me0

I reckon I get around 10 of these a week purporting to be from various companies.
A quick stab of the delete key soon sorts-out the problem.
Only one issue with these phisshing emails is that a large number appear to come from genuine email addresses of real companies, some of which I might well deal with in the future. So adding the email addy to a spam filter would be counter-productive.Never Knowingly Understood.

The phishermen didn't do their homework with that one...
Apollo have fairly strict T&Cs of sale, which always made my former employer's contract lawyer sweat a little bit whenever I specified their products; while they'd budge on payment terms, the penalty clauses didn't make pleasant reading.
Companies that only sell to companies play by slightly different rules, and selling late invoices to Laurel & Hardy debt collectors at a discount isn't in their repertoire. Feeding lawyers on raw meat and releasing them on a delinquent account is, however.
Since you've not been savaged by a hungry lawyer, it's not a real invoice0
