Yesterday was a terribly spendy day. I blew the whole of this week's entertainment budget on snacks to eat whilst watching the football and a card and leaving gift for someone at work. Noooo! So I now have nothing left in the budget with which to entertain myself this weekend. I'm hoping that I can think of something free before Saturday arrives or I might end up having to spend another weekend with my Mum and her deranged cat. Mmmm... thinking caps on...
Today was a much better day though. My car insurance is coming up for renewal so I shopped around for something cheaper and managed to get it down from £235 to £140. Yay! As a bonus, the policy comes with a stuffed meerkat and 2 for 1 cinema tickets for a year. I'm not much of a cinema goer but 2 for the price of 1 might come in useful if I feel the urge. Maybe I could find something that the meerkat would enjoy and we can go together this weekend lol
I also paid £50 of my Santander card today and picked up a free box of green tea from Sainsburys by using a voucher (thank you MSE). My SOA tells me that if I want to reach my goal next year then I need to find another £130 each month. The first thing I'm going to do is start clipping the coupons and see if I can save some pennies from the food budget.
So I'm off to clip some coupons. I hope you've all had an equally fruitful money saving/debt reducing day xIf you can dream it, you can do it - Walt Disney0 -

End of the week and this week saw another payment made to my Tax Credits debt. Just 5 more payments and I'll be free of this one after having it hanging round my neck for the last 3 years. Can't wait!
I hate the middle of the month. At this point all of my debt repayments for the month have been made and I now to wait another 2 weeks for the next payday to come around before I can pay off some more
This week also saw me blow all of my weekly entertainment budget on Tuesday so with no money to amuse myself with this weekend I had to find something free to do. Luckily it rained pretty much all day yesterday so I stayed in and read 'No More Clutter' by Sue Kay. Great book! It's inspired me to have a good old clear out of my own clutter. I don't have loads of stuff (I try to live a very minimalist life) but my paperwork does tend to build up and I'm sure I can find some bits and bobs to take to a car boot sale or put on the bay. And any money I make can go towards my holibobs.
And this morning I popped down to the seafront to watch a bit of the Brighton Marathon. I took a flask of coffee with me (didn't even have the money to treat myself to a latte or anything) and sat in the sunshine watching an endless stream of runners go past. The marathon is such an awesome challenge to undertake and I doff my cap to each and every one of those taking part. The furthest I run is from the sofa to the fridge and back during the adverts to get a snack! But watching the marathon participants today has inspired me to do something about my own health and fitness. I've become very lazy of late and I can feel the pounds piling on so I really must get on it.
So,
Next week's financial goals:
Stick to my £30 entertainment
Have at least 3 NSD's
Next week's personal goals:
Declutter wardrobe and kitchen cupboards
Next week's fitness goals:
Dust off running shoes and download the NHS couch to 5k running plan
(Note there was no mention there of actually doing any running lol)
Have a great week everyone xIf you can dream it, you can do it - Walt Disney0 -

Hi Tina, I reckon just getting to week 5 would be awesome. I'm not a natural born runner so probably won't get much past Week 1 lolIf you can dream it, you can do it - Walt Disney0
