still getting hassle and interest added after BR

Sorry I haven't been on much since going BR I often think of you all but to be honest really trying hard to draw a line under the whole thing and move on ... but I am STILL getting letters threatening to send bailiffs round , to sell my dept to a door step recovery agency and they are still adding interest !
I went BR in April this year , when I got home that day i sent a copy of the BR paper and a letter explaining to ALL creditors , when these letters come I forward them to the OR office as I was told to but still they come ...why ???? In my nightmares I wonder if I really am bankrupt and the last few months were a dream ..... is anyone else still getting letters etc ?

I had this for a few weeks too after BR. I kept forwarding the letters to the OR to deal with and eventually they stopped.

Have you tried speaking to your contact at OR and explaining that they are still adding interest? OR needs to check they have actually contacted the particular creditors who are still hassling you; its up to OR to sort them out, creditors shouldnt even be writing to you.
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

Yep. If you are concerned, contact your OR and give their ear a good bend.
If the OR does their job properly they will tell the creditors precisely where they can stick their interest and demands.:D

It is their job to deal with this now, so make sure they do.

I hope everything else is getting back to normal (as much as is can) post BR desperate mum. :)

Hi DM - I wouldn't worry about the letters - if they are upsetting you, just do as fermi says. I expect that your OR has already informed your creditors but they just haven't acted on it - after all creditors and DCAs expect US to jump, but THEY (seemingly) think they can do as they please.
The letters, and calls, WILL eventually stop - in my case it took several months for them to stop altogether.
    Good luck.

    "Dear Mr. Stupid,

REgarding your recent contact. I was declared bankrupt on the <insert date>. My case number is <insert case number>. As the debt was incurred prior to that, it was included in the bankruptcy. You must address all further correspondence to <insert OR contact details> as they have taken over responsibility for all my financial affairs prior to <insert date of bankruptcy>. As you are aware, I cannot discuss this with you.

    Yours truly,

"I'm sorry but I cannot help you with that matter as it was part of my bankruptcy. You need to contact the Official Receiver. Their contact details are..<insert contact details>. Do not contact me again as I am not legally allowed to discuss this with you and you're not legally allowed to come to an arrangement with me. Goodbye."

    Hey Conor,

    Good response.

It always seems unfair to me that they should pick on people who worry about that sort of thing, and to be sure some of the DCA's would accept money from a bankrupt when they must know for certain that it's illegal; too many bloody loopholes for some of these vultures.

  • Many thanks to ALL of you ... I loved Conors reply but I wouldn't have the nerve to say it ..I certainly think it though ...In my heart of hearts I know i'm ok it is just horrible thinking " what if " I am sure they have so many to deal with and yes they seem to know who the soft silly ones are who worry too much ..
I'll forward them all onto the OR , just wanted to check it out with you all first ..
Hope everyone is well .... I really am beginning to feel normal ..well ..whatever normal is ! xx
