There are quite a lot of decorations on Ebay at the moment. I've got quite a few cheep bargains since not everyone has started buying it yet.
have you tried to google games and halloween food. I found some fun and money saving suggestions.
For the punch: Make a floating hand. make sure that you use not only non-powdered gloves, but non-latex gloves as well. Many people have latex allergies and this could be potentially dangerous. You can purchase non-powdered non-latex gloves at your local pharmacy, and many even will sell you just one pair of gloves. Pour either water or your favorite juice into a cleaned glove. Close the end with a rubber band and place on a baking sheet. Place in the freezer and freeze until ready to use. Float the hand in the punch. I like adding dark food coloring (green, purple, or black works great) to the juice before freezing for an even spookier accent. 0 -
Apple bobbing & marsh-mellowing:D Make people bob for an apple first so that their face is wet then bob for marshmellows in a tray of flour or icing sugar;)Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -

Nigella has some really disgusting ideas for food (they taste great though!) I think they're in the 'Feast' book.
I did the blood clots & pus one year, it looked truly gross but the kids loved it. It's just raspberry/ strawberry & blackcurrant jelly roughly chopped up to look like clots but the inspired bit is - make up some lime jelly with milk to get pus! You then mix it with the clots for a stomaching turning yet tasty treat!
I must admit though very few adults could bring themselves to eat it.
Also a good trick is to get some fake blood (the washable stuff) half-fill the bath with water put some blood & body parts in & finish it off with some bloody hand prints on the tiles, taps & shower curtain. It looks amazing & has people screaming the first time they use the bathroom!
Asda is usually pretty good for hideous masks too, I stretch them over footballs & leave them lying about the house. I wish I was having one this year now!0 -
:j yippee!!!!!!!!! I love halloween partys ok I love all partys.
Ok in my local poundland this week they have started selling their halloween stuff i got loads of decorations including hanging bats light up pumpkins and rolls of " enter if you dare" & "haunted house" tape ( like the do not cross police line stuff) Packets of cobweb like stuff face paints and some very cool tights (very wicked witch of the west)
Have always found asda to be good for cheap masks and decoratins too.
We make a punch using white wine lemonade vodka white rum &bits of fruit
Then you take a plastic glove ( like those you use to dye hair) fill it with cranberry juice or water and red food colouring if you prefer tie up the end and freeze overnight . When its frozen take off the glove and place the ice hand in your bowl of punch . It looks great !!!!!!:AIt matters not how long a stars shines ,what is remembered is the brightness of it's light.
JAN Battle attacks cars, 3 VIP althletics tickets, fairtrade choccy .... yum

I did a halloween party last year.
Party games, as well as apple bobbing, I also did
variation of pin the tail on the donkey (pin the cat on witches broom) etc
DS had a bag of plastic 'bugs'. I put a large cloth over table, moved chairs out of way. Threw the plastic creepy crawlies under the table with a handful of sweets and the kids had to crawl thru the 'creepy cave' picking up as much in their hands as possible. Any sweets they got they could keep, the insects and another handful of sweets were thrown under table for next child to crawl thru.
Someone has mentioned punch. We'd fetched some kool-aid sachets back from North America, and one was a horrible greeny/blue colour. You add water & sugar to make it into a drink, so we had kids making it up, as a spell in a big paella dish (cauldron)I have. The water was rats spit, the sugar crystallised toe nails and the grapes we added witches eyeballs.
Sit 1 child on a chair facing wall, and another approaches him. Child on chair has to guess who it is purely by their shadow. If the guess correctly that child then takes their place on chair. You need to practice this in advance, to see when the light starts fading and how the shadows fall in your room.0 -
One of our party games (children's)
Put some jelly worms on a plate ,aerosol cream on top, quickest one to eat all their worms wins, the deeper the dish the more difficult it is - quick and easy and good funLook after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves0 -
It is a pain to do, and admitedly never done it myself, but peeled grapes make good eyeballs for punch0

We have held a halloween party for the past few years and we love it!
We play most of the games mentioned above, but also The Mummy Game.
You need to buy very cheap toilet paper, put your guests into pairs, then one player wraps the other in toilet roll as quickly as possible. Whoever runs out of paper first is the winner.
We also fill a plastic box with cold spaghetti, pasta, baked beans etc, then place objects inside (such as plastic spiders, grapes and lizards) cover the box with a cardboard box and cut a hole out of the top, big enough to put your hand. Then people can take it in turns to find the treasure!
Food wise, I generally cook a chilli and label it monsters guts (my cooking really is that bad). I also do burgers, sausages etc and label them with horrible names.
Have a great time!!0 -
