bead cavity wall insulation

Hi everyone, I've been trying for a year to get cavity wall insulation for my freezing home. I've only been able to get hold of one company locally who were shambolically organised and eventually told me that I need the bead type and they don't do it. Every company I've found on the internet doesn't reply to phone calls or emails. So why won't anybody do this for me????

Have you contacted your local council? They should be able to advise.

Have you tried Domestic and General - depending on where you are in the country. They do a bonded bead system. They tend to cover S Wales, West Country, Hereford/Worcs sort of areas but may go further if you need a special job. They will also sort out any available grants for you.

That said they haven't actually done ours yet but they were pretty quick coming round to measure up - they did a neighbours a while back and they were very pleased with the work.

Thanks, I'll keep trying. I'm just so bemused by tradespeople who don't follow up customers, they must all be making so much money that they don't need to!

I have the same problem, desspite several calls to cavity wall firms none seem to follow up, if anyone can recomend someone in the Wigan area i would be grateful.

Have you tried through your energy provider? Some are offering deals through providers. I am with NPower and they have an offer running with an InstaFibre Consortium Approved contractors and it has caught my attention.
