State pension payments

I have been receiving State Pension for about 6 months. It is usually paid 8th or 9th of the month. However, my April payment was received 29 March. Someone suggested it was early because of Easter holiday, but Easter was over. The April payment coincides with a small (£3) increase. Anyone else found this?
Also I read on these forums that the pension can be paid weekly. I never got that option.
Thanks

Pension is paid every 4 weeks so you will have had 2 payments in March , next one due 26th April ?0

I opted for weekly pension 7yrs ago but I think that option has now been phased out.#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

I am not sure about that - a relative opted for weekly payments about three years ago - the option was not offered but it was requested when the state pension claim was made.
If you received the SP before April 6 2010, the weekly pension was paid in advance - after that, weekly state pension was paid in arrears.0 -

seems unlikely : if you are receiving the state pension on a 4 week basis then the day stays the same but the date changes every month become: either by 3 day (for months with 31 days, 2 days for months with 30 days or 1 or none (february)
