Only if you are in the forces and expect to be posted. Thanks, what do you do if in a similar position to the OP?
You want to buy a house now, but plan on letting it out in near future.
Would you not be allowed to do it?I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. This one is quite similar to my circumstances...
Bought a new build in Sep 2009 (with no intention of moving) and was offered a promotion / relocation from Manchester to Geneva in May 2011.
Mortgage company is Natwest and they have been excellent in granting consent to let ( which has now been in place for 5 years). One fee, no time limit and no renewal charges.
Very important to be completely honest with mortgage company and insurance when changing from owner occupied to rental.
Still in Switzerland (but missing a good fish and chips!)0
