I know it will but I am finding it all very stressful to be out of my usual routine.
I want to hibernate until it's all done and come out again.0 -

please can I ask what price you have paid for wood chip?
do you put liner on your paths first and then wood chip on top?
OH wants some wood chip but I've not done the price research yet - I've only seen the 50 litre bags in Morribobs for £5.
OH has made a border around the bottom paddock over the last couple of years - the soil is dreadful stuff, water logged clay mud in the winter and baked hard in the summer. Some of it he put a liner on top and then wood chip but then he gave up and just put wood chip down because he thinks wood chip is the cure all to suffocate all weeds - even though the weeds eventually find their way through as is happening now .
it is constantly trying to revert back to being a field so weeds are everywhere but OH literally cant see them so its no use me telling him to weed as I would need to point out each one to him.
so I put some yellow polyanthus in down their today and moved some daffodils (with gravel underneath so they are not sitting in water) strangely OH will say its too wet to do any weeding down there - but I've done planting and its not too wet to plant ..
I am trying to get OH to take responsibility for this bit of the garden so he can put his own mark and creative touches but he prefers the manly tasks of lawn cutting and tree trimming etc ..
I didn't pay anything but gave the gentleman some beers for his kindness:) I was driving to a nursery to use a voucher for a cup of tea and I passed some workmen lopping branches off trees at the side of the road and shredding them. I went to ask them what they were going to do with them and he offered them to me and delivered them (4 miles) at the time he said he would. :j Said if he was in the area again he would let me know. I've used 20 wheelbarrow loads and it hasn't made a dent in it. Last year I got a load from Openreach who were clearing branches from the telephone lines. I have also been (but very laborious work) helping myself (with permission) from a huge mound in the middle of a field where dozens and dozens of unsold Christmas trees were shredded.
I put thick layers of newspaper down first then about 4 inches of woodchip/shreddings. My hubby doesn't see weeds either! He doesn't like coming to the lottie but is more than happy to eat the produce.
I hope you have a successful growing season, it's lovely being down there when the weather is good.0 -

I was six months without a kitchen sink ..just kettle and bowl.....My washing machine drained into a bucket until I got it all connected several weeks ago..11 months like that...:rotfl::rotfl:...It's all worth it...I'm actually going to have some carpets soon... and I may even get a door or two so I can put them on the toilets...:rotfl::rotfl:
No door on the loo, I hope you don't get too many visitors.
At least once this week is over we hopefully will be able to get back in it, going to be a no entry zone tomorrow first layer of latex going down.
Do you know I have managed all weekend to avoid a paintbrush or roller in my hand.I think by the time Mr TS got to the next coat he didn't want me to make a mess of it so I got sent out to buy more paint instead.
Ceiling is done so hopefully by tomorrow morning Mr TS can pop the downlights up into it properly.
All looks a bit clinical as it is all white but the units and worktops etc will tone it down, on and the floor tiles.
I really couldn't cope with 6 months with just a bowl.
I am hoping to order the doors tomorrow for the 2 larders and get a new kitchen door too as it won't match. Old one has to come off while floor being done anyway.
Really struggling without the washing machine, I don't like the idea of going to a launderette where people's clothes I don't know have been in, that is my OCD coming to play. :eek:0 -
BHS Food store coming to a town near you.
I posted a few days ago about a new food store which had opened in Merry Hill and said there were Mocs being given out. Well, thanks again to Coupon Clippers on FB, I have more news and there's an online conditional spend you can print off. There's also a list of more stores opening soon, one near me(inside an already large BHS store).
The conditional spend expires end July, so hopefully if you have a store opening soon you'll be able to use the moc. Worth saving the .pdf somewhere just in case you happen to visit a store this summer and would bring their Dine In For 2 meal deal down to £8
