Proof of address

Hi

Applied for a mortgage with Aldermore and they have came back and asked for 2 forms of proof of address for my partner. He has submitted his full uk photo card driving licence for proof of id. Current account bank statement for proof of address.

They now want another form of proof of address as he isn't on voters role (silly I know). From reading the lenders criteria I thought the paper part of the driving licence would be acceptable. My mortgage advisor is telling me no. He doesn't have any other credit and stays with his mum just now so no council tax bill etc. He does have a savings account but with same bank as his current account. MA has submitted this and has been told it will b down to the underwriters discretion

Has anyone been in a similar situation. Do you think it will b approved on this basis.

If worst comes to worst he can apply for a new passport (other one out of date and therefore not accepted) but this will take time and we are due to get he keys on 22 April.

Any advice would be appreciated.

A passport isn't (I think) going to be useful for proof of address, given it doesn't have your address on it.

Sorry should have said he would use the passport as proof of id and driving licence for proof of address as well as bank statement.

Any correspondence from HMRC,P60 for example?

Driving paper licences are no longer valid for anything.

P60 has old address on it which they have put Put a line through and current postcode He has tried to contact them about this but it's so difficult to get to speak to someone so he will try again tomorro.

Each lender will have their own criteria. The MA should be able to give you list of acceptable documents.
Occasionally a signed solicitor letter would suffice, i'd ask your MA what they would accept and see if they can give you any other options.

I sent it to mortgage advisor late in today and he was going to call and speak to them about it. He said it would be tomorrow before he would get back to me.
