Opinions on Nutribullet - worth it?

Hi all,
Just looking for some opinions on the Nutribullet from some people who have made the plunge and purchased one? It is an investment for me so I am still mulling over whether to purchase or not.
I have a Breville smoothie maker but it struggles to break up fruits such as bananas and absolutely cannot deal with vegetables of any kind! I love veggie smoothies - carrots, spinach, kale, avocado, frozen fruits etc. and would also be looking to use it to make sauces, grind oats/quinoa into flour and making nut butter - which would absolutely murder the Breville!!
Also, does anyone have any opinions on the difference between the 600w and 900w versions? I see a good offers on the 600w machine on eBay but if I am going to spend the money, I want it to be for the correct version.
Apologies if this has been covered before but I couldn't find a similar thread!
Thank you in advance :j

I have one of these and I love it. I was given this as a flat warming gift less than a year ago.
I didn't realise there were 2 versions but I think I have the 600 because when I asked for this as a gift, I remember reading it was 600.
I had a jug blender before and although it does the same thing, the nutribullet is smaller and space saving (I live alone). Another good thing about the nutribullet is that it easily blends all the ingredients. With my old jug blender I had to shake it or stop and get something to stir it so that the fruit chunks get to the blade as it can easily stick to the side of the jug and not move. I've also used it to make baby food for friends kids and also made tomato sauce for cooking.
Pros of nutribullet:
-Small so it's space saving
-Blends all ingredients equally, no big chunks sticking to the side.
-Easy to wash as the blade is part of the lid
Cons:
-No drinking spout lid so you can't take a smoothie out with you but you can purchase this separately (unless newer ones now come with this).
- Price. If I didn't receive this as a gift I would never spend nearly £100 on it when there are others that will come with a drinking lid for 1/3 of the price.
All in all I couldn't be without it so I say go for it or get a similar cheaper one. I think the 900 would be more powerful as that is how much it spins per minute but my 600 is powerful enough.0 -
I went for the Nutri Ninja instead. Love it.0

can i ask, when making a nutribullet drink/smoothie, do you have that as well as a meal or as a meal replacement?
tiaIt`s nice to be important, but its more important to be nice.

Depends what I put in it, whatever you put you are meant to put some liquids too (water, milk, almond milk etc), there is a 'max' line in the tub for water level otherwise it'll be too thick. Obviously the more liquid you put the more runner it is so sometimes I may make it really runny and have it like a juice drink but I try to have it for breakfast as a meal replacement as I never get up early enough to make a proper hot breakfast.
This morning I had strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, a handful of spinach and half a banana (I prepared this at the weekend and freeze in bags, as I'm not doing this in the morning or the night before), I add orange juice along with a spoonful of porridge oats, wheatgrass powder and a spoonful of chia and flax seed. This is quite thick almost like thick soup consistency and I put this in a travel cup and sip it while sitting in rush hour traffic (hence why I think a drinking spout lid would be most handy)
Nutribullet comes with a leaflet and it recommends you don't peel or pit the seeds in apples etc and even leave stalks on to get all the goodness. Depending what you put in, it doesn't always taste great but it is an easy way to get some fruit/veg.0 -
We got one over Christmas but have only used it twice and now its at the back of the same cupboard as the sandwich toaster and food processor where its gathering dust, I ended up going back to the blender as it does a much better job of making a good smoothie.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Thank you so much for your review AubreyMac, it is very much appreciated! Lucky you getting one as a flat warming present! I have found lots of 600w versions for good value so its good to know this does the job for you, I will look into this model then as I think it will be sufficient for me too! Fab news that you have used it for sauces with no problems! :TWe got one over Christmas but have only used it twice and now its at the back of the same cupboard as the sandwich toaster and food processor where its gathering dust, I ended up going back to the blender as it does a much better job of making a good smoothie.
Do you fancy selling to another MSE convert marleyboy:D:cool:?! I am pretty sure it wouldn't get relegated to the back of the cupboard, but it is a risk with spending a large amount of money!Trying to make my way on my MSE adventure.. Debt free since June 2018:j

A blender is a blender in my experience. Certainly the cheaper ones tend not to blend ingredients quite as smooth. I wouldn't spend as much on one, you'd get a cheaper alternative that does the same thing. Nutri Ninja as has already been mentioned.0
