mystery charges!
6 months ago i repayed a loan with GEMoney using finances from a remortgage which involved needing to use a solicitor. Because of Martin advising the British public to reclaim MEAFs i started to investigate the small print on my documents. Low and behold i found TWO charges which are not on the original. One of which is a £200 discharge fee and just by sheer coincidence there is a £200 discharge fee on the remortgage redemption figure though i dont know what happened to my original contract documents for the mortgage which just so happens to be with GEMoney also. I am going to start the process of applying for a refund though i m sure GE will try to give me an explanation in their favour! But i wont give up without a fight

my 'point' is are we not covered by the consumer credit act in that an agreement is binding to both parties and fees cannot be added later when the loan is redeemed?0
