A question about sentimental items for the older os people

For the past few years I have been trying to pass on things that belonged to my parents to my children, with limited success, DD1 has a pair of brass candlesticks and my mother's weighing scales, DD4 has my mot her's bread knife, DS1 has dining chairs more than a hundred years old, DD2 wants my parent's grandmother clock, but wont take it now as she has nowhere to put it.......I know that the afternoon of my funeral a skip will be in my front garden and be filled with the contents of my house, so at almost 71 I have a problem to which I can find no solution!
How this will help anyone else I do not know...I hope that some posters may give me an idea that I can use.

Jackie I really do wish you would write a blog!!
Thanks honey, I may well do one day when I find some timeI lead such a busy life with the DGS, and all my hobbies and activities that I get up to
Perhaps when I get a bit older ,maybe in my 80s I might have a bit more time:rotfl::rotfl: .
I had a fantastic day today my eldest DD and I went up to London and I spent oodles of dosh on nice perfume (£76.00) and some clothes (another £70.+)and we had a great 'posh nosh' in the Waldorf hotel. Then we went to Sloane Square and pottered around Peter Jones, but I was good and virtuous:) and didn't buy the smashing dress I spotted as it was vastly overpriced, even though I really did like it I know it would have ended up at the back of my wardrobe and only come out on high days and holidays:):) £300+ is absurd for a frock
:):)
.DD and I then had a coffee on the top-floor and people-watched for awhile.
I am now still full from the food and am going to put my trotters up and do zilch for the rest of the evening
Cheers chums
