Caravan magazine have teamed up with Keal Lodge CL, Penmarlam Caravan & Camping Park and South Wales Touring Park for three lucky readers to win a tiny break away!
A week at Keal Lodge CL
Keal Lodge is a beautiful and pristine CL site set on the edge of the peaceful village of Deeping St James. Keith and Alison Rogers have won a number of awards for their stunning site, and it’s easy to see why. All five level, hardstanding pitches are fully serviced and cost £15 per night. Each pitch gets its own view and they’re carefully arranged to maximise privacy. Within 20 minutes you can explore lovely Stamford town, incredible Burghley House with its surrounding parkland, or Peterborough with its jaw-dropping cathedral and precincts. That’s enough from us, here’s what visitor, Mr Gray, said: “This is the first time I’ve stayed on a CL site. I wasn’t really sure what to expect, a field with a few caravans? I have to say I was knocked out by the site with its perfect, level pitches, beautifully set amongst trees (if wanted) and it is spotlessly clean and tidy. Upon arrival, I was greeted by
Alison who is warm and friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. She let me pick my pitch and lent me a very comprehensive local guide book with maps and restaurants. Alison also pointed out the fridge and freezer stocked with home-made pies, milk and essentials that are accessible anytime (very handy when you run out) with an honesty box, which
was a nice touch.”
A long weekend at Penmarlam Caravan & Camping Park
Penmarlam is set amid some of Cornwall’s most stunning scenery with a choice of ‘hills and valleys’ or ‘coast and sea’ to make every morning. Whatever you choose, you’ll be totally enchanted by this incredible area where folk are friendly, food is a passion and the local brews are to die for. At Penmarlam, you can choose a ‘wild-country’ pitch or a
more manicured plot to park your tourer (visitors are encouraged to pick their own). Each pitch has electric hook-up and some come with neat hedges for added privacy.
Fully-serviced pitches with water supply and grey-water drains are also available. Quaint Bodinnick village is just a short walk away. Here you’ll find the highly recommended Old Ferry Inn. Prices for a couple start from £18.75. Pets and children under two can stay for free!
Weekend on a serviced pitch at South Wales Touring Park
You can expect the warmest Welsh welcome from Hywel and Cathrin at Llywnifan Farm. This small site is easy to reach, located as it is, just a mile from junction 48 of the M4.
All pitches are hardstanding and there are 10 serviced pitches available. Mobile and TV signals are excellent and beautiful vistas come as standard. The site boasts spacious, heated showers, toilets, dishwashing facilities and a laundry. Pets will love Penmarlam, too, as it has a dog-walking area behind the site and a pet-sitting service. There’s even a small gym and cycle hire available on site (including tandem hire!). 2016 prices start at £14.
