CV & 6 week job

I've just resigned from a permanent job after just 6 weeks, reasons were the job was awful & my line manager was probably one of the worst managers I've ever had.

I spoke with the HR dept who agreed under the circumstances I described that I wouldn't have to work my weeks' notice, which I appreciated as I really didn't want to go back.

I'm not sure if I should include this job on my CV. I'm waiting on my P45, I don't owe them any money pay wise (they have said in writing they will pay me outstanding holiday which is a couple of days). I think HR will be ok with giving me a reference basically stating dates I worked there.

Any advice would be really appreciated, thanks.

Depends if you will be looking for similar type of role.

I have at least one 6 week job on my CV though to be fair it's just there as a filler + reference opportunity if it ever came to it as I didn't leave on bad terms, didn't fair so well within bounds of same industry with it straight away but it had got better in time if I wanted it to so never really done me much if any harm.

To be honest short terms job are ok as long as you remain more confident about the new skills/working environments it has exposed you to etc - for me there's a whole debate to be had on short v's long term (won't bore ya!)

Ultimately the CV is your marketing tool. I've no real experience of the 4life type or application form type employers.

Depends how quick you get another job, leave it too long and that gap has to be explained. Possibly with proof.

I do admin & I am already looking for another job & will be calling and making appointments with agencies this week.
