Employable Me

Watched the 2nd episode of Employable Me on BBC I Player. Its about disabled people who are gifted but haven't managed to find work over long stretches of time.
I personally have had the same experiences as these people. I have Autism and I struggle to get my words out or sound like a pompous posh idiot. My IQ is incredibly high and I've been told I am a genius but I tend to brush that off considering my own employment prospects lack a lot.
At the moment I have a part time job in Computing. To sum my earnings up I get about £108 per week or £5616 a year in wages doing something called Permitted Work but I also get around £15000 in welfare.
I always argue that if all my barriers to work, social situations and physical issues where not there I could be able as any other person but a lot of people just shrug this off and call me a faker. The welfare money enables me to lead a independent life but I would argue if I could be as able as any other person I wouldn't need it. I could probably work 70 hours a week if all my barriers didn't exist.
I think this documentary on BBC I player will give people a good insight into the problems adults with mental disabilities face.
Anyway enjoy.
