Hi
Was just wondering if anyone out there has been through or going through the same issue of child maintance I have two daughters 13/8 there father only sees them 102 days a year he worked it out that he gives me £220 a month maintance for them
But the question I need help with he has remarriage and his new wife doesn't have young children living in there home what my question is does her wages get taken into account in Scotland to increase maintance for my children as they are both earning 50 thousand a year between them if any one could send me a link or if you have been through the same issue please let me know and if it's worth forgetting his figures and contacting the CMS myself ? Thank you

Are you earning £50k too?
Of course the new wife's earnings are not taken into consideration and why should it? They are not her children, you can look at the CMS calculator yourself to confirm if the ex's contrbution is about right.
You say the Father 'only' sees them so many days, you realise the more he has overnights , the less contribution he has to make.0 -
This is one of the simplest questions and i cant believe you couldnt find the info on the CMS website (or you could but didnt like what it said).
The answer is simply no. The kids are your and his liability and nobody else s. He could marry a billionaire and it wouldnt make one penny difference to how much he has to pay you. On the flip side you could also marry a billionaire and it wouldnt make any difference to what he pays you.0
