Toaster - that toasts full slices bread

Options
Looking for a black toaster that will take full slices of bread. Seems that so many leave an inch or so that is not toasted properly.

  • The white value ones from supermarkets are the best with the long slits for 2 large slices or 4 normal slices. Unfortunately not available in black but only £9 I think.

I have one from Asda that is black - Asda's own. It toasts full slices.

    I've got the Sainsbury's Basics toaster, 2-slices.

A lot of bread doesn't fit in it at all. It takes my usual 36p loaves, but I "treated" myself the other month to a loaf called Toastie (or something) (Lidl, square cut for toasters, about 45p) and I had to cut a piece off the top of each slice to get it inside :)

I'm yet to come across one which doesn't... maybe there is something wrong with your bread?!

I don't eat bread so no toast for me ,but I have noticed that with a good few toasters (my Dds for example) the bread no longer fits in the toaster I always have to cut a bit off to get it in for my DGS.The last two toasters they had have been the same with smaller slits to put the bread in.Mind you I don't waste the crusts they go in a bag in the freezer for DD and get used for breadcrumbe

My toaster was given to me by my friend, the colour no longer fitted in with her new kitchen. The bread sticks out of the top. I toast for half the time, eject, and put bread back in the other way round. No need to cut a bit off. :D

You must use extra small bread then!

Most sliced bread fits toasters. However Warburtons bread seems just a little longer, and doesn't fit lengthways in some toasters - normally the toasters we get in caravans on holiday ...

Before buying our current toaster, I actually took to carrying around a piece of card in the size of a slice from a Warby's green loaf. It led to us buying an Asda/George 4 slice toaster which is brilliant, it's big enough even for Warby's. Not sure if they do it in black though, we got silver.
