probably there will be a reduction in employment resulting from the increase expecially the £9 promised
however, by restricting immigration the UK should be able to mitigate the worst of the undesirable effects.
Restricting immigration also restricts the size of the consumer market so that makes no difference.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

I didn't say that at all.
I noted that with regards to employment restricting the number of people also restricts the size of a consumer market and thus the number of jobs.so why feel so passion about wanting immigration?
Split a large debt between 10 people and its a lot less per person than splitting it between 5 people.
Split a large aged care cost between 5 workers and it's a lot less per person than splitting it between 2 workers.
In case you hadn't noticed we have a large debt. And large aged care costs.
And EU migrants pay in more than they take out....“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

now I understand how 1 million young immigrants increases demand in the economy for essential imports like food, fuel, gas etc
but I'm less clear how they increase the demand overseas for UK high tech products to pay for the essential imports0

maybe they allow a lower tax economy which allows the export industries to function?0

Plus we're not breeding fast enough, our current system relies on ever growing population paying taxes to fund the largess of the previous generation(s)
Immigration helps plug that gapLeft is never right but I always am.0

My nursery costs have increased by about £8 a month. We were told that this increase was due to the minimum wage going up. I still support it - I want the people who look after my daughter to be paid properly for doing so.0
