Received $50 Amazon.com gift card - what to do?

I received a $50 Amazon.com gift card for taking part in an online research panel. I understand I can't use that on Amazon.co.uk, and I don't really need to use Amzon.com. So what are my options? Is the only option to try to sell it? If so, where, eBay?

If you have an American friend/relative/whatever, sell it to them and have them paypal you money.

I had that happen once and had already added it to my account before I realised so I had to purchase the item and send it to them myself and have them pay me back so... careful you don't accidentally add it to your account.

Contact the panel and ask them to exchange it for an amazon dot-co-uk voucher

You could get a few smaller items such as CDs, you pay VAT on goods over £15 in value, I am fairly sure there would be no customs duty on items that small. Of course the postage on these items could make this idea prohibitive.

Postage is atrocious though. Tried that with mine and postage on one book was $25... which was the entire gift voucher. That's why I sold it on to an American who could actually make use of it and get the same book on .co.uk for a fraction of the cost
