From the Vegan Society website its basically the case that a diet that doesnt contain any of the standard sources of Vit. B12 needs supplementation. They recommend:
10 micrograms daily
OR
2000 micrograms weekly
So - a quick scan of Amazon later and the choice seems to be down Vit B12 supplement only and it contains lots more than 10mg OR take Vit. B Complex and none I have checked out so far have anything like as much as 10mg.
Can anyone recommend a genuinely good Vit B Complex - (ie with at least that 10 micrograms in per tablet)?

The B12 supplements in pill form aren't vegan friendly from my understanding.
You can get a type of powder which comes from an algae IIRC that you sprinkle onto food when cooking and this is how the vegans i know get their B12All your base are belong to us.0 -
Lifeplan are a good make. Look out for them in health shops, or you can buy online
Vitamin B12, 25mcg

They also do a high-strength B-Complex, suitable for vegans

I used to take Healthcrafts supplements, but sadly I think they're no longer available. I would like to say, however, that although I don't eat much meat or dairy I am not deficient in B-vitamins, nor am I anaemic (blood tests all come back as 'fine') so the need to supplement the diet may not be as urgent as people may have you believe.
I eat quite a bit of marmite, which has B-vits in it

Just found another vegan supplement, this one is liquid and therefore easily absorbed

Firstly I think that you might be mixing up the units. B12 is usually recommended as mcg/micrograms rather than mg/milligrams. You can however buy mg quantities of Vitamin B12 typically 1mg or 5 mg tablets/capsules watch out for gelatin in the case of capsules.
Also note the form of vitamin B12 as there are a few different forms which could affect absorption. Intrinsic factor is required for B12 absorption which can reduce with age and therefore could lower the absorbed quantity. Common cheap B12 comes as cyanocobalamin and this is not a very good type as it contains tiny quantities of cyanide and the absorption may be also lower/poorer. Methylcobalamin is a better form although a bit more expensive. These can be purchased in tiny tablets on ebay in 1mg or 5mg amounts. One seller sends as flat packs which post through the letterbox and are fairly (relatively) inexpensive. I have been using one merchant for quite a while after switching from more expensive capsules.
If you want a fairly comprehensive supplement then Life Extension 2 per day is pretty decent. It contains more than just B12, all the B vitamins many in the enzyme activated forms, along with other nutrients. Price is fairly decent from Health Monthly for a two month supply, it was £11 last time I looked.0 -
Holland and Barrett do a decently priced option.
