Anybody heard of SurveyClub.com???

I've just received an e-mail from surveyclub.com welcoming me and asking me to activate my membership by following a link. Thing is I don't recall registering with them.

Has anyone heard of them/had dealings with them? I'm wondering if this is to do with the thread yesterday - earn £15 for a survey - where most of our postcodes weren't what they needed  . I can't seem to find that particular thread.

Many thanks,

  • I doubt it has anything to do with Indiefield.net (the survey company who did the £15 survey yesterday). I've been a member of Indiefield for ages and have never had anything like that from them.

Have you googled the name? Normally by doing that you can see if it's kosher or not. If you're not interested, i'd just ignore the email.

A word of warning though - if anyone asks for money for a list of suevry companies don't pay - there are lots of free lists out there. Also, if anyone says that you need to send them money to be able to claim your survey money don't. Reputable survey companies never do this. :)
  • Just googled it:

This site does not distribute surveys for money, basically they do they same thing we do, which is review free paid survey sites. By registering with this site you are pretty much just signing up for their newsletter. They aren't a good information resource about surveys for money.
Survey Club is owned and operated by Survey Club Inc. and has been in business since 2003.
Since Survey Club is only a directory of paid surveys we used a different criteria to rate them on: How many new sites they introduced to us.
If we received an increase in spam, specifically work at home spam.
If they provided any help besides a list of sites.

As usual our scores range from one to five, one is a poor mark and five a very good one.

    Survey Club: 1
We do not receive surveys from this company, but they do usually send out a newsletter about once every week. Since they don't update their site very often and since they seldom send out a newsletter we had no choice but to give survey club a 1. Plus our inbox started to receive some more spam after we signed up with them, coincidence?
  • Just to add ...it is also american
  • Thanks for your help folks. I think I'll just ignore them, I'm with enough survey sites for the moment anyway. Hopefully they'll just go away if I take no notice.

Can't for the life of me remember registering with them though, must've been in my earlier MSE'ing days.

I'm trying to 'organise' 'my' survey sites and came across this thread.

I'd like to add that SurveyClub flashes up as a 'red site' in McAfee Site Advisor: the report indicating that, not only is it spammy, but may well give you 'crapware'. Here's the link if you'd like to read the McAfee info. page. The MD from SurveyClub has his say down the bottom of the page, in defence, but I'm curious that he only mentions the 'spamminess' and not the spyware, adware or phishing reports...

Hope that's useful to anyone who comes here searching for Survey Club info. in the future.

    :)
