Hello,
I started comping in October last year, and enter around 100-150 competitions per week. I haven't won a single thing yet and am getting really disheartened.
Should I stick it out? Am I simply not entering enough? Please tell me what your average win/enter ratio is

Hi!
I would say stick at it, a win could be just around the corner. Some people find they have a very dry spell before they win and others win more steadily, it's all down to chance. But what is certain is the more you enter, the more chances you have.
I don't keep track of how many i enter, once I've sent my entry, I put it to the back of my mind and if i get a win it's a pleasant surprise, if not then I haven't spent any time wondering about it.
You could try entering competitions that require more effort i.e. taking some sort of picture. You'll find less people enter these and thus it'll increase your chances. Almost all of the competitions I've won in my short time comping have had some sort of 'effort' element for example, taking a picture with a statue in Canary Wharf.
Good luck!March:

There was a "test group" last year that ran for 8 months
They counted their entries & wins over the duration
The result of the "test group" was an average of 1 win for every 1,561 competitions entered
The last month it ran was September 2015

25 compers entered the challenge in August
58 compers took part over the 8 months
12/26 managed to complete 4,000 comps
We were aiming for 100,000 comp entries :A
We actually entered 145,246 comps :j
We entered 1,020,876 over the 8 months
We had 93 wins :T
We had a total of 746 wins over the 8 months
That is 1 win for every 1561 comps entered
Well done all :T
100-150 per week is not that many .......... you can easily enter that amount in less than an hour
Also remember that "comping" is just a hobby - any wins are a bonus
If you are entering just to win, you may be very disappointed - you may enter on your very first entry or you may never win ... that is how random works.0 -
I enter about that amount per day, I have won one thing since I started on 10/03/16. Best not to expect too much and just think of it as a hobby! Good luck!Started comping 10/03/20162016 prize fund: £1038.06 August 2016 wins: Bundle of Boofle Cards, £100 H&M Voucher Restarted comping 02/03/2023March 2023 wins: Percy Pig Bundle April 2023 wins: Osmo UK Paint May 2023 wins: The Who tickets0

I roughly estimate I win 1 in every 1000 to 1500 competitions i enter. I try to enter about 100 comps a day. So that would be around 9000 this year and I've won eight prizes so far this year, so average wise that is about right.
You've entered around 3600 so far. If your luck was in then I'd expect you to have had three wins so far.. however this doesn't mean big wins. If you are only going to big prizes, ITV comps, holidays etc your odds are a lot lower. If you are trying local competitions, ones for DVD's, place and time specific prizes your chances are higher.
Most of my wins this year have been London prizes where you had to be available on a set day to take the prize and with no travel.Top wins in 2018: Trip to Iceland, helicopter ride over london, couples massage, £300 flight from Pringles, trip to Paris, cocktail making class and afternoon tea up the shard. .
Top wins in 2017:holiday to the Bahamas, trip to Paris, meal with champagne, a week in a manor house in France with £500 spending money.0 -
I have won a few prizes each year, tend to win more around Christmas time with all the advent comps, but so far this year absolutely nothing. I probably enter 200-300 per week? The highest value of a prize ever was a handbag at £130. I have a friend who just keeps winning more and more each week at the moment which is even more annoying when I have had nothing. But it is a hobby so I will keep going. Good luck for your first win xEntering a few comps here and there 2020 seems my best year for wins so far:- iphone xs, limited edition whiskey, Masha and the Bear toys, newborn baby stuff, 3 x books, 12 months membership to diet app, bottle of syrup, Baby Shark singing puppet, children’s book, Nasty vegan shake x 2 packs.0

Click to wins take a matter of seconds - you can quite easily save 100 of them in a folder - click "Open All in Tabs" at the bottom of the folder and work through 100 in less than 5 minutes.
You can go on Twitter and use certain search terms - they are easy to enter by just going down and clicking RT on each one, 100 of these can be done in around 15-20 minutes0 -
I enter around 150 a day most days (not including mag dailies). My last win was in January. Think that puts my ratio up to around 1 in 13,000...0

Wow - I should be so lucky - I've had 1 x 10p win (Topcashback)in the last 18 months from over 25000 entries - someone is getting my share.
Previous years I've managed about 1 win per 6000 entriesDynasticDux wrote: »There was a "test group" last year that ran for 8 months
