Amazon subscribe and save - losing reliability?

I use amazon's subscribe and save programme a lot - especially for pet items. I get some items monthly and most bi-monthly.
I'm noticing more and more that there are problems with fulfilling parts of the orders.
Most recently, my S&S of 5 items due by Saturday is now only going to deliver 1 item as i've had emails for the other 4 saying they have 'encountered difficulties'.
Each time that happens I find that soon after the S&S option is then removed from the product OR if I go and look at the product again, S&S still functions but the price has gone up considerably (which i don't understand cos the prices change with S&S anyway).
It's especially annoying when you time items to arrive so that your animals don't go hungry
.
It's reaching the point now that S&S isn't worth doing because I can't get the 15% discount unless I'm buying 5 things.
Anyone else have similar experiences?
