Can any body help my friend as she is in desperate need!
She is getting married in June but the photo booth company she has used has now emailed saying they have gone insolvent.
The woman from the company told her to claim her money back via Paypal but Paypal told her they can't help as she paid over 180 days ago??
Bank wont help as she paid via Paypal...
Any ideas on how she can get her money back so she can book someone else?
She paid through Paypal in may 2015. It's only £200 but she has no spare money and every penny counts!
Time is short and she is in a very stressful state.
Thanks in advance for any help x

Firstly, the title is misleading, the company haven't run off with the money at all, they took money a year ago and have subsequently gone into liquidation.
Does she have wedding insurance?0 -
If she had no wedding insurance then there is nothing that can be done, unless there are assets of the business that can be sold in order to pay creditors, which is highly unlikely, and you would have to share any money raised through goods sold with all other creditors, and only after priority creditors have been paid in full.
And for future reference, never EVER pay for services through paypal. Always a credit card, debit card at worst. You have some protection through these.0 -
Very occasionally these kinds of stories end up in local newspapers and someone will help find a local alternative. No guarantees though and she would need to be prepared to have her photo in the paper. Local papers usually have a contact for your area.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

Unless she has wedding insurance there is very little she can do, although depending on her excess this may not be worth it in the end. A photobooth isn't vital to a wedding, it's a nice to have, however if they really want one they should look at creating their own, we did for our wedding and it worked out great.
