maybe a silly question

i have just got hold of my credit file from ' check my file'and i have found that i have some accounts that say i have defulted on.
i know that i am repaying some of the accounts to a debt collecter which calls each week. when the balance is cleared will it appear as satsified on my file?
also if i clear the remaining £1387 that i am not as yet making payments to will this also be shown as satisfied when balances are repaided?
i know these may seem like silly questions but ideally i am wanting to clear all my debts so that in a few years time (when i gratuate from uni) i can look at buying my home, but i'm not sure if i am going the right way about it.
any advise anyone can give me will be gratefully recieved, thank you

They should appear as satisfied but you need to check them once you've paid as the companies don't always update them quickly.0
