Moving Jobs Whilst Awaiting Completion

Me and my partner got a mortgage at the end of January. Contracts have already been exchanged but completion is not until June. Last week I got a phone call from a ex manager, invited me in for an "chat" at the company he currently works for and today sent me an email offering me a job, same role but flexible hours and more money.

Anyway, my only worry is staring a new job may effect our mortgage offer. As we have not yet completed, I don't want to do anything that will jeopardise the mortgage. If I take the job, I will obviously have to inform the lender (Halifax), will this make then reconsider their offer? I'm happy were I am now so staying in my current job isn't an issue.

If you are happy in your current role why not just turn down the job offer? Then you won't have to worry about upsetting your mortgage application anyway.
Or you could ask the guy offering the job if he will keep the offer open until you have completed and got your house if you really want the job.
