being a carer and earning/trying to start earning

Hi,
I am currently employed full time but in around 4 weeks I'm giving up work to care for my daughter who has down syndrome.
Im going to become her full time carer and receive care allowance.
At the moment I receive child/working tax credit and around 50% of my rent is paid via housing benefit.
Im leaving work so my partner can start working as she's been my daughters carer since she was born and really wants a career.
I on the other hand have always wanted to work for myself buying and selling via market stall, car boots, selling online and one day even a shop.
Does anyone know if this will effect anything and or have any tips?
Thanks muchly
Allan
