joint application sole owner mortgage. I need help

Hello all,
I bought my house in 2003 as a single person and always had a good job 30-40k.
I met my now husband and he moved in in 2011. In 2014 I remortgaged with the intention of it being a joint application but then learnt that as my husband isnt on the deeds we couldn't so I did a single application which wasn't a problem as I was the high earner. I'm with First Direct on an Offset which comes to an end in April.
We decided it wasn't worth the £1000 to put husband on the deeds (were thinking sbout mocing at the time) but now circumstances are very different as I had to leave my job due to maternity discrimination and am now currently self employed earning under 10k. My husband is now the main earner on 21k.
Its just dawned on us when talking about remortgaging that I can't as I now dont earn enough which scares the hell out of me.
Wanted to add house is values at 150k owing is 79300 but we wanted to remortgage at 100k to take some money out for cellar conversion.
Is our only option to pay to put him on the deeds or do some companies allow joint applications?
