Amazon: I want a replacement

Just received my latest order from Amazon. I had ordered several items to add up to more than £20 for free delivery.
One item is damaged and I want a replacement, but, on the online returns page, they are only offering me a refund:mad:.
This is no good because I need the item now (just not a damaged one!).
I don't want to have to wait until I have enough other things to make up the £20 value so that I can re-order.
Surely, for a damaged item, and with all the distance-selling rules, I must be able to choose a replacement rather than a refund?

Spoke too soon - replacement never arrived so have ordered from elsewhere. "Fulfilled by Amazon" is a strange way to do business - surely either Amazon sells the item or it doesn't. Frankly, after yet another refund, I couldn't be bothered to re-order from them whereas if they'd been able to send another on the same payment, I'd have waited.0
