There does not seem to be a lot of 'mis-buying' going on.I am a Mortgage Broker

Typical ambulance chaser fishing trip.
I had a letter many years ago from one of these companies. Lets call them "Buuunch offff Crooks". If you sing it, it kind of sounds like a company that advertises on daytime TV.
Anyway they were trying to claim costs in the region of £8000 for their client, who I am guessing just got a cold call from them one day, about a mortgage I "mis-sold" them. All sorts of accusations in the letter. Failing to assess suitability, not assessing the applicants income, failing to assess ability to repay (it was interest only), failure to comply with MCOB sections X Y Z 123 etc.
The best thing about it was that the mortgage they were referring to was the one I remortgaged them away from, done by a previous advisor. This was swiftly pointed out in the reply with the copy of the fact find, the copies of all the proof of income, the intended repayment vehicle and it's statements, suitability letter etc. I never heard from them again.
These companies are just chancers, just hoping that someone, someone didn't dot an i on some piece of paperwork. It's like the PPI claims companies. That unreported scandal is just as bad, if not worse, than the PPI mis-selling in the first place.0 -
