Moving back into a BTL

About 18 months ago myself and my parter decided we wanted to live closer to work so we bought a flat nearby and set about renting our current house to a family friend.

At the time we transferred our existing residential mortgage product from the house to the flat and took out a buy to let mortgage on the house.

I am now pregnant (hurrah!) and would like to know if it is possible to move back into our old house which is much bigger / better for a family. We would obviously want to put the flat we are living in at the moment onto the rental market too.

Assume this might involve switching our mortgages over (buy to let to residential and vice versa) but I have no idea how it would work.

Could any kind souls on the forum advise?

Thanks

Julie
