Hi all,
I'm looking for a 3+2 seater recliner sofa.

I've decided NOT to buy a leather sofa for ethical reasons. So that leaves me with very limited options. We are a busy household with 2 children. So, a fabric sofa will be very high maintenance. Another option is bonded leather. I have no clue about its durability etc though.

To summarise, my options are:

This sofa from a seller on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Valencia-Recliner-Leather-warranty-DELIVERY/dp/B00SHT1FGO?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=A2DI7CTKFE5P3A

or this one from DFS:
http://www.dfs.co.uk/garrick/3-seater-manual-recliner-arizona-101280148p--1#3cMrTb842ksrHKYf.97

Appreciate any relevant advise on making a wise choice here. The amazon one comes with a 1yr warranty. DFS one is with a 10 year frame and springs (?) warranty. If there is anything wrong with the frame and springs, it will be come out in the first year surely?

Bonded leather is still leather so you may be back to fabric if you have ethical reasons to avoid leather.

The price does reflect the quality of the materials used. A sofa retailing at £500 has cost £100-150 to manufacture.

With a limited budget it is well worth scouring ebay, gumtree etc for a well known high quality brand.

M&S, John Lewis, Duresta, G plan, Parker Knoll, Natuzzi, Stressless etc etc.

You are going to be sitting on the sofa for a long time, don't buy online unless you've been able to try it beforehand. You can't test comfort from a photo.

Personally I wouldn't touch DFS with an extra long bargepole.
