I love hot cross buns at Easter, but I only ever have them with butter - toasted or untoasted.
I thought that was what everyone did, but DH has to have them toasted with butter and jam?!
How do you eat yours?

Cold salted butter and nothing else - jam would just make it all too sweet, and there's something so delicious about the contrast between a toasty-warm hot cross bun and cold butter. The same goes for crumpets.0

Just butter!
Anything else would spoil the taste of the bun.0 -
