hi all
first of all what an amazing site im so glad i have found it before i have started my bankruptcy.
i am 23 and patner 24 i have been in debt since i was 18 catalogues and cards.my partner could never get credit so was always in my name i paid for all the christmas, birthdays, holidays etc. even though partner did have a good job with good wages we always struggled all the money he made went on bills.so to get anything new we had to buy on credit.we did manage to get a joint loan last year which made me feel abit better about not having everthing in my name. we now have a daughter who is nearly 2 everything we have bought her since she has been born has been on credit.my partner had to leave his job a few months ago due to ill health.he is employed somewhere else now but on basic wages i work 3 nights a week.we sat down with my mum who has been great through all of this and we have come to the conclusion that we are both going to go bankrupt.i have been looking through the forms and at the end it asks about gambling.
well my partner had a problem for years gambling that is part of the reason there was never any money he always gave me money for minimum payments then quite often he would spend the rest gambling or drinking. so i would buy shopping etc on my credit cards. he hasnt gambled for at least 4 months now. so the question is do we be trueful and tell them i am so worried of getting to the court and them saying no its our own fault.(which i know it is)
has anyone been through this please help

Don't worry too much - nothing too terrible will happen to you.
If your partner has a gambling problem, his bankruptcy may have added restrictions that will mean his can't be discharged as quickly. Trust me, this is a good thing for him. I think that's unlikely to happen to you.
Just be honest - don't try to hide anything. Be an open book and don't worry. It sounds like you probably have no assets to speak of, so you have nothing to lose.:beer:0
