Bus from Chester to Llangollen

We are going to stay in Chester next month. Does anyone who lives in the area know if there is a direct bus service between Chester and Llangollen.

I don't believe there is a direct service.
You'll need to change at Wrexham.

Think you'll have one change.

Depending on day/time it's likely to be

either

a) bus to Wrexham, change there for bus to Llangollen

or, usually quicker,
b) train to Ruabon, change there for bus to Llangollen.

As above, for bus only take the very frequent Arriva 1 to Wrexham (runs every ten mins) followed by the GHA Coaches 5 to Llangollen (not sure of the frequency, probably hourly). Or take a train to Ruabon snatch the 5 from there, the train isn't so frequent though. Personally I'd take the bus.
