I bought some Karrimor trainers (D30) from Sports Direct on 31/08/2015 for £67 (I have the receipt). I use them for running about once per day.
I usually buy Nike Air trainers (about the same price) and they last at least one year - sometimes 18 months. I saw signs of wear straight away - after a month or so they were uncomfortable.
I am wandering what to do about this. I have two options:
1) Move on. Buy a new pair of trainers (not Karrimor) and forget about it.
2) Take issue and make a complaint.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation and what did you do?

Buy a new pair, and don't buy from Sports Direct next time0

you bought them in August last year, the time to do anything about feedback to SportsDirect/Karrimor would have been when you first noticed they weren't going to last well, ie 6 months ago.
I would just not buy them again.0 -
Karrimor used to be a decent brand years ago.....but is in a long list of cheap far east brands owned/part owned by Fat Mike's Emporium...sorry Sports Direct
Most of the brands in his shops with the exception of Nike and Adidas are all owned by sports direct0 -

Option 1) You don't return to Sports Direct.
Option 2) You return to Sports Direct.
Treat yourself to some new trainers happy in the knowledge your feet will be comfortable as you run away from Sports Direct. The further you run the more your face will look like this0 -
If some of the posts re Sports Direct on the Consumer Rights Board are accurate, option 2 is unlikely to be successful, but maybe an amusing pastime!
Go back to shoes you are happy with. For the last few years I've only bought a recent version of the same make and model of running shoe. I know it fits and suits me perfectly.
If you are buying off the 'net you'll know there are loads of suppliers. The one I use is Start Fitness based in the north-east somewhere. I'm not telling you "buy from them" but I would advise you to look at their site and see what they offer that you might like. I've bought about 8 pairs of running and tennis shoes from them and never had a problem. Check 'em out and see what you think. I've only had positive experiences but perhaps I've been lucky.0 -
For £67, you could have gone to a proper running shop & got a proper brand.0

We stay close to a Sports Direct and have bought some bits and pieces from them over the years. Usually starter kit.
When I started cycling about 4 years ago I bought a few bits and pieces, with one cycling jersey still going strong and it is a firm favourite. My girls got some hockey kit from them and then moved on to better stuff when we saw they were going to take it seriously. We bought some Karrimor walking boots with mixed success, usually pretty robust but not always entirely waterproof.
Move on a bit with us sort of having drifted away and I bought a pair of Karrimor trainers from TK Maxx. They looked good, I don't run but walk several miles with the dog every day, wearing boots if its wet and trainers when it is dry.
I have never been as disappointed in anything I've bought. They fell apart pretty spectacularly - in fact I'm convinced paper mache would have lasted longer. That combined with the recent press disclosures about the working conditions for some of their staff has me convinced I will never be back.
I've now bought a pair of Merrell gore-tex trainers and so far I'm extremely impressed. I know this is MSE, but sometimes a few quid extra is actually well worth it!0
