Hi all,
Just had my first quote for a new porch, composite front door and French doors from a cold caller from Safestyle. They have quoted me £4300 - he didn't particularly offer us cheaper and cheaper prices but maybe that is because I told him his was the first quote and I wouldn't be booking today. Obviously, I will be getting other quotes in particular from the company who did my windows.
My question is would you go with Safestyle from a quality point of view?
Thanks

they are the last firm I would ever use after a guy at work used them, nothing but trouble and they would not come out to look at windows that would not open - for months and months.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0

I would be asking a builder for a quote, I wouldn't be going anywhere near any of the big window companies.0

I wouldnt go near the big names to be honest.
Google it for local builders or window companies, they rely on their reputation if they live near their work.
I would also, if you use window companies, ask them if they do the work themselves. I wouldnt let any company anywere near my house who use sub comtractorsmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Never use cold callers. They knock on people's doors because they can't get any business via recommendations."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0

Thanks guys,
The gent that came around to quote us (within hours of the cold caller) had a bit of an attitude as well to be honest - I did warn him before he even came in that I wouldn't be signing or ordering anything today and he let us know he wasn't happy to be seeing us on a bank holiday. I will ring up a couple of local companies next week.0 -
I made the mistake of inviting Safestyle to quote me for some windows. Got all the usual sales tricks, started with a ridiculous quote, kept on giving me "discounts", even did the whole call my manager routine. Wouldn't take no for an answer when I said I wouldn't be signing anything. Wouldn't do business with a company like that, ever. Took weeks to stop getting phone calls from them harassing me and they even called me again a few weeks ago, months after I saw them. Avoid.0

I've just been quoted about £7000 for 18 triple glazed windows by local companies. Go local.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

Now they have you on their database as a potential [STRIKE]victim[/STRIKE] customer, expect more cold calls.
I think I eventually asked to speak to a manager, and asked them to remove my details.
I may have added that due to global warming there is currently no chance of hell freezing over.:D0 -
I wouldnt use them either nor any other cold caller it just rewards companies do cold call even more. I still with a local company if it was me0

I wouldn’t use them ever they are an utter disgrace
Many glazing firms especially the larger use numerous tactics to get you to sign there and then and will hassle forever on the phone once they have your number / email etc
I always advise other’s Never give your landline number or your normal mobile or email use a Through away sim card (cost between nothing and £0.99) and set up a single use email account.
Book at least 5 - 10 firms to quote ( some nationals some local independents) once all quotes are in ( all other things equal) Play them off against each other till you get best price> It may seem long winded but will save you thousands and a lot of nuisance call emails in the future.0
