Hi all, I am a novice in investing, so what books would people suggest to read to start building a knowledge. I doubt it's directly relevant but I have done quite a lot of economics both at A Level and uni so have a grasp of basic micro/macro economic principles. I have seen suggestions about a book by Tim Hales? but wonder what else there is.
Cheers, Richard

The message I got from that thread is that most books use a lot of words to say very little, and could be condensed down to 10 pages or less. I must admit that I do not like the self help style books, they seem to be written to order as publishers know that "How to make a fortune", "How to lose weight quick" and "How to be happy" will sell. Wikipedia seems quite good on many aspects of investing. Be aware that there are fads, index funds do seem to be the current in thing.0

You don't need A levels to or to succeed in investment, just being able to read and common sense.
The following should be of help I think.
