Thanks Suki. How does the cost of cooking compare though? I think my dh thinks that our fuel bills will go way up. I do have to say that I will be getting another fan oven. Ended up with a second hand dual fuel cooker when we moved and I do love the fan oven.
As for the porcelain floor it sounds lovely. But was it not really expensive? And is it porcelain tiles?Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

No idea on cost as we don't have gas to compare with ( no mains gas outside of the large towns here)
The tiles were cheap as chips. We got lucky B&Q were selling at half price and we got extra trade discount We needed about 50 I think, the huge ones, 4 in a pack and I think it was something like £20 a pack I know we got quoted 3 times as much to lay them, but hubby took his time, hired a decent tile cutter and laid them himself
They still do sell them and often really reduced. It's usually only a limited choice of colours and I know we had to go to three stores around the country to get enough of the same batch number. A hassle but worth the savings ( one store local, one Belfast and one on the Border)
They do look lovely, hard wearing and easy cleaned which is handy with a dog and chooks in and out all day0 -
Let me know your thoughts on these bits please. We are under a bit of time pressure now.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Oh, I was about to start a thread of my own, but can I be cheeky and ask here what people think about washer dryers?
I've never had one, but was thinking of buying one and hopefully donating my old washing machine and tumble dryer to a charity shop. Are they worth it or is having separate machines better in any way?0 -

I can always find a way to dry clothes, no way am I spending time and effort hand washing! So an easy decision.
Yes, I have heard that so I assume I would have to get a long warranty.
The tumble dryer bit is invaluable for me as I have quite a few pets and it removes the pet hair. I used to line dry, but since having more pets I need the dryer.:D2025 GOALS

Great info about the tiles Suki (and blame autocorrect for the misspelling of your name above!).
What worktop do you have Suki? I saw my friend's one the other day. It's laminate walnut look. Absolutely lovely and still looks like new two years on.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
