Hi getting married in July, my fianc!e and I aren't big drinkers but have decided on prosecco for the toasts over champagne. Would anyone have any suggestions for a decent but reasonable bottle that we could buy in bulk? Thanks in advance!

Aldi's prosecco about £5 a bottle has won stacks of awardsFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0

This is what I'd suggest...
1. Tesco currently have 25% off when you buy 6 or more bottles of wine / champagne. This is available in store and on the regular groceries website, but NOT on tesco.com/wine. Only issue is that there ARE limits with each order and in store too (I think), so you might need to do several shopping trips / online shops. Cheapest prosecco is £5.50, not tried it though. You could always buy a bunch of different proseccos, if you are just providing one glass each for the toast, will it matter if some people get different prosecco?
2. Tesco's wine website, tesco.com/wine has a couple of proseccos that work out at £6.50 a bottle or a pignoletto at £7 a bottle. They all get good reviews. Depending on when you want to buy it, sometimes they do a "buy 2 cases, get 15% off" deal, but often these coincide with the wine fairs and there aren't any until September - but you could wait a while and see. You'd be able to buy in bulk here too
Waitrose and M&S have similar wine websites where you buy in cases of 6, although I imagine they will be more expensive
3. Majestic wine will let you buy in bulk, will provide free glass hire (if you need it) AND take back any unopened bottles - so you co. Their cheapest option is £6.99/bottle, if you buy at least 6
Also check out Cava and Cremant as alternatives to prosecco - both sparkling wines, might end up cheaper (e.g., case of 6 bottles of cava from Tesco's wine cellar works out at £5/bottle)0 -
Thank you Faith 177 and lovehackney! We've taken you're advice and just ordered 36 bottles of prosecco from Tescos saving us £60! Gone for different bottles as it is only for the toast so not bothered that we have different varieties! :j:beer:0
