Faulty light - whose responsibility to repair/replace/refund?

Bicycle light purchased 5 months ago has gone faulty. It's a consumer rights question, so I have posted it elsewhere, but if anyone has any experience to offer I would be interested to hear it.
Thanks.

What exactly do you mean by faulty?
I would have thought 5 months for a cheap bike light would be longer than I thought it would last. I expect you had to replace the batteries at least once in those 5 months.
I have a pannier light on my bike which is permanently fixed to it is kept outdoors to the elements (having no shed to put it in) sometimes it fails to turn on as moisture gets past the seal into the battery contacts but a few seconds rotating the batteries usually gets it going again. My more expensive front light (£15) is always removed when not riding so it can't be stolen.
having brought very cheap lights in the past, they always broke after a few weeks. you get what you pay for#141 - Save £3k in 2016 challenge - #141

The light should have three flash modes and three power levels of steady light. The light will only work in flash mode. That's a serious failing, as it was bought for commuting on unlit country lanes in full darkness. I didn't post details here as I didn't want to commit the sin of cross-posting. Thank you for your comments on cheap lights, but this isn't that kind of light. If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0
