cancelling a pension plan

After being made redundant i have now found out i may be enrolled in 3 pension schemes. I've checked them online and it looks like only one is active. Is it possible to cancel the inactive ones and have the money now or does it have to be transferred?? Tried searching online but cant find anything that tells you in plain English.

Under most circumstances you can't access pensions until you are 55.
You can transfer the pensions to another company are these final salary or defined contribution, you shouldn't normally move the former.0 -
How old are you?
What are the schemes. Defined Contribution or Defined Benefit?0
