Generation meter reading

Just got another reject email from first utililty after giving them my first gen reading. But they won't tell me what is wrong with it. Apparantly I have to guess.
Can someone tell me the correct format for the number.
I have tried 000775.0 and 775

Why not phone them and ask;)

    Could it be 775.0?

    Edit.

Saw this on the F/U web-site...might work

Please provide a photo of your Generation meter as this helps to ensure that

there are no issues relating to how many digits we are expecting on the readings

They cunningly wait until 16:59 before emailing you to tell you the reading is incorrect in some way that they can't tell you about.

Apparently they thought i had generated too much!.
My reading was 24% higher than they were expecting and i had to send a photo of my gen meter.
I got back this interesting reply.

I have validated the meter read for you. The reason the read failed is that is did not pass our tolerance of 10%. Your read was 24% Higher than expected based on the information provided by your installer.

How does your generation compare to PVGIS for the period of your reading?

If it's similar then perhaps ask them to revise the estimates.

I understand they are working from an installers estimate, presumably from the MCS certificate, but that in itself sounds odd if (IF?) you provided system specifics like the orientation. I would have thought they could easily use orientation to get a fairly accurate (or at least reasonable) estimate of quarterly generation.

Mind you, saying that, my WNW FiT payment gets delayed most qtr's as it has to be manually approved by EDF. It gets thrown out for being too low, yet it's been performing slightly above PVGIS estimates from day one!

Since i had it installed last november it has underperformed PVGIS every month except Last month.
What am i supposed to tell my installers?.
    It is working too well?.

If you've performed below target (sensible PVGIS figures) but still been classed as too high, then something has gone wrong.

Is this a first claim, so exceeds 3 months of generation? My first WNW claim was for 8 weeks and EDF actually rang me to say there was a problem with my system.

I told em it was working fine, slightly above expectations, but they told me there was a serious problem and to contact the installer. I demanded to speak to someone who actually had a clue what they were talking about, and eventually convinced them that the last 2 months of the July to September qtr, would be significantly lower than all 3 months, and had they taken the start date into account. Nope!

Out of interest, how does the MCS cert compare to PVGIS, have the installers supplied too low a figure?

Yes it is my first reading, perhaps that has something to do with it but they have all the relevant dates and should be able to do a pro rata calculation.

The utility companies seem to have pretty poor quality estimating systems. My initial reading (i.e. the reading on the application form) was rejected as too low - i.e. I should have generated more between installation and application than I was claiming. Even though the communication was made by a human being (rather than merely the computer) nobody had considered the fact that it was during the days of constant rain and gloom in winter. Those experiences above do not surprise me at all.

My PVGIS estimate was 2400 and actual has been over 3000 every year with best year at 3300kWh. I had similar once with British Gas who also wanted photo but accepted it fine.
