For those who's cases have come to an end, did you get advanced notice from the CSA?

No,
Not from CSA. The PWC told me she had informed CSA that she was no longer eligible for maintenance. About a week later i got a phone call from CSA telling me the case was closed telling me i should stop my standing order. This was followed by a letter and a call from a different department about checking payments had been correct (there was an over-payment of 2 weeks because of their delay).
About 3 weeks after that i got a schedule for the next years payments. I phoned up and was told to ignore it. It seems they dont even talk to each other never mind anyone else.0 -
No. Fortunately I have a good relationship with my kids & was completely aware of their work / education status & not a bad relationship with my ex.
I contacted CSA & they contacted the PWC to confirm & then they notified me of the closure date.
They stated that they would've done this automatically but who knows???Donedoingdebt Lightbulb moment January 2000. Debt at highest approx £102,000. Debt now (October 2009 - absolutely fork all!!!):beer:
CSA case closed on 02/09/10 :beer::beer:0 -
Yes, I had a letter about three months before and then another one a month before and again one when it ended0

No they told me retrospectively about six months after it should have closed.
I then had to ask for the money back that I had overpaid.0 -
Hi you get a letter six months before closure and then they write again one month before its due to close,they then check your case for payments or part payments either owing or owed and ask for payment so that they can move the case to an arrears cleansing team,once paid they then send another two letters that inform you that the case is closed .After final payment has been made the Csa have to then complete an arrears cleanse on the case and if anything's owing or owed then they get in contact by phone or letter. Hope this helps0

If it's six months then 'it's got lost in the post' as I was hoping it would be this September at the latest, I know there are no arrears as I get an annual statement, and I have kept all correspondance and statements.0 -
I think the letter in with six months notice of closure is for CSA cases that are being closed as part of the transfer of cases to the new child maintenance arrangements. If you are asking about notification when responsibility to pay child support ends, I think it's unlikely that you will get any advance notification. I know people who have had to fight to recover overpayments because they were not notified when the case should have closed. If you believe the case will close in September you should phone and ask them to check on or just after the date you expect it to close. If the say it is still an active case check again the next month.0

Thats only for cases being moved to CMS.
If the case is ending because its just ending they wont contact you at all. Its up to you or the PWC to inform them. They dont track it and dont care.0 -
got nothing at all, the child in question being cared for solely by pwc got pregnant and had a child of her own at aged 160

Well I get another statement to say pay until 2017 and then the next day another letter saying the case is closed, I guess I have to wait for another letter to say stop paying and a refund ?0
