Mumsnet

Mumsnet have tightened up their security and now that I have logged in, eventually, I find I have been entering competitions with a screen name that wasn't even mine!

I used it because it was accepted every time and was one that I know I have used in the past on some websites, but never having to log in was obviously a bit iffy!

Mums net stopped me from logging on and even though its been a while since i used the account i thought it was unfair to completely discard me as a member...is it necessary to be that tight with security?

I think it is is necessary because I wasn't logging in I was just entering a screen name that I thought was mine but wasn't! Complete waste of time for me and perhaps somebody else won because I had entered with their name!

Yes, given the problems they had a while ago (one example here)

    Same with me

Unfortunately logging in won't help, as you still have to fill in the details even when you're logged in....
I seem to be unable to remember that, on this site, I'm using a userid and email that isn't the one I use on almost every other site!! :o

What would help me is if the details would get filled in automatically when I'm logged in :)

At least I now know what my userid is, since I reset my password and will not be using the one I thought it was!
