how to protect suede boots?

Someone recently gifted me with some sketchers suede boots, in a lovely denim blue colour.

I wondered if anyone has any advice or experience with how to protect them from rain and dirt, can you still get scotchguard spray or something similar?

Yes, you can get spray treatments.

I use it on my UGG boots before wearing.
Beware though - some sprays say they may darken light coloured materials.

I use protector spray on everything - footwear, bags, purses etc. You can get it in shoe repair shops, Wilkos and most shoe shops. I've even bought it from Amazon. Just shop around.

I agree with Pollycat, good idea to test an inconspicuous area just in case.
